Nimbin is where this story begins, I was with a group of non-profit missions organisation and they were holding a barbecue for the locals there. Never had I been here let alone heard of this place, it was a small strip of shops, cafes, a museum celebrating its history of legalising marijuana and an alley way filled with people selling various drugs. I had never heard of this place and had never felt so unsure, people offering me cookies and brownies, am I kindly declined their fresh baked goods and went on my way, whilst looking about I passed a tarot card reader before entering a shop and I had this feeling drawing me to her, trying to ignore it when exiting the store I had my inner voice telling me to go to her, I couldn't shake the feeling or the constant pull to her, so I I did what I knew how to, tell God I had no idea what I was doing but have my back, I may as well dive in head first.
When I approached her at the table, I went over to her trying to somehow ease into a normal human conversation that usually includes an exchange of words, not just the uncertainty my face expressed. She was really lovely and after getting to know her I asked her has she always done this, read cards. She explained that when she was little one side was catholic and the other side gypsies. when she was Thirteen, she said she knew she had powers and really developed them when she was eighteen and did it frequently to her ABUNDANCE. She lived the gypsy lifestyle but was open to more. She then offered to do a free reading for me, I accepted and she said pick cards, read them and then said to me "you have a problem with people talking things about behind your back." At first I thought well who doesn't, but prior to this it was something I knew I had to work through and overcome, so I told her "No, actually I don't, I used to but God helped me realise more." She was taken aback and wanted to know more so I let god do the talking, He spoke into her, her life and told me to give her the money in my purse. I had no money at the time, but what I did have was a $10 dollar note I tried to save. I pulled it out and said God just wants you know, He is your ABUNDANCE and put it in her hand.
She began to cry.
She explained that she hadn't been out in a while to read cards which meant couldn't make money. She felt that day there was positive energy so she decided to come out and read cards. She told me I was on the right path and that she loved to tell people to have a rainbow day.
She had fed into the lies that she would have no other option to have an ABUNDANCE in her life, this was a word she used a lot when talking to her and she seemed so trapped, not only financially but seeing the rainbows in her own life. after we talked she said I was welcome to her home anytime, it was just a caravan so she could travel around as she could find other crowds of people to make some money.
I learnt that day, God does not need to feed into our need and struggle but give us more than we expected for the very sake he is our ABUNDANCE and how freely he gives. Yes it was my money I had saved as I didn't even have much, but I knew he would take care of that and that money was never for me, it was always for Tanya.
